I have tweeted and facebooked your site! The video was smooth, the actors handsome, the color inviting. You didn't ask for this but: the only thing I would change is the pace...a bit slow. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI thought the trailer was excellent. The piano music was perfect for the emotional element. The content left me wanting to know what does actually happen to this young couple. The images of Inda was enough to make me want to read it. I think it works well.
ReplyDeleteThat was incredible. I loved the emotion and the simple way you presented the premise. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI'm tweeting!
I loved this trailer. The pictures were amazing. The second picture even had a rainbow! Beautiful..after watching this trailer I am definitely wanting to read this book! Very well done!
ReplyDeleteI posted to FB.

I agree with Charmaine, pretty slow. Your fans will love it, but to get NEW fans, you should use more bait!
ReplyDeleteI will tweet and facebook:)I loved the music and images. It held my interest and left me wanting to read the book.
ReplyDeleteJody...I watched the trailer. I love the images and the music. The actress is lovely...was she the same model for the cover of "The Preacher's Bride?"
ReplyDelete~ Betsy
Jody, I can't believe it's time for your new book. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThe trailer is beautiful, and I love the hope you feel through the sadness.
I am touched by the premise of your book. With certain things going on in my life right now, I relate. This story would move me.

ReplyDeleteAwesome! I can't wait to read it.!
ReplyDeleteI like how there was actual people in it. And I'm sort of blown away by the lady in the trailer. She's the lady on your cover. How did that happen?
ReplyDeleteOK, you're torturing me now. Let me read the book! LOL Yes, I watched the trailer. The music was perfect, it was just the right length and it left me wanting to read the book TODAY. I facebooked your link :) Michelle Delp
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so excited to read this! The trailer was lovely. I really love the premise of the book :)
ReplyDeleteComment left.
Facebook to follow.
And you'll see my tweet :)
linsadair@gmail.com
That was fantastic! It was the perfect length and now I'm dying to read the book. Who did the trailer?
ReplyDeleteWho knew that books even HAD video trailers?!?! Would it be corny to admit I got a little choked up watching it? I can't wait to read it - did they do it while they were doing the photo shoot for the cover?
ReplyDelete-Kim in MI
Yours is the first book trailer that I've ever watched. I thought it was very nicely done because now I really want to read the book. I'll be facebooking and tweeting about this.
ReplyDeletenancyking[at]nctc[dot]com
Wow, that looks like a good story, Jody! Can't wait to read it. Posting to Twitter and FB now.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Thank you for stopping by and watching the trailer!
ReplyDeleteI'll jump in here to answer a few of your questions:
The trailer was made by my publisher and I'm very grateful to them for their willingness to give it a try. They don't do many trailers, so I'm sure they're learning from this experience too!
The still pictures within the trailer are of the cover model from the extra pictures taken during the photo shoot for the book cover. The actress in the later part of the trailer is not the cover model, hence the blurred face.
Jody,
ReplyDeleteWonderful trailer! Love the music! And the cover model is gorgeous!
Blessings as you prepare for your new release!
Ooh, I liked the part where after he puts the ring on her finger she turns away to walk off only to stop a few feet later. How sweet. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteJody, I really like the trailer AND the tease. Hee hee. It definitely makes me want to read your book.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting that your release date is so near.
Loved it! The music was very stirring and the body language of the actors added to the curiosity surrounding your characters. Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that all the ladies chosen to market your work look a little like me. :D
ReplyDeleteYou really need to stop writing about me, Jody. ;)
It's well done and since I'm visual, I like!
~ Wendy
Beautiful! I love that they found a woman who looks so much like your heroine on the cover.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, Jody, faith-based fiction isn't usually my cup of tea, but your book definitely has my interest! I also have a lot of friends and relatives who I think will adore your story, so I have Facebooked this.
Wow. I really didn't know your story line yet and this book video...blows me away! I love how it went from stills to real life, totally drew me in! BH has done some really fantastic trailors lately!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted this post
I FB'd this post.
Thanks Jody! Can't wait. :D
caseym.writer(@)gmail.com
Really enjoyed this! Especially at the end when she walks away but then stops and looks back... gave me a little flutter. Can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is stunning. I particularly liked the one scene of the mountains with the glimpse of a rainbow -- hinting of promises and blessings fulfilled.
ReplyDeleteI am tweeting about this and posting about it on my FB page now. And eagerly awaiting reading "The Doctor's Lady."
Wow! A video for a book. How funny! I liked it. The blurred faces were good so that when you read it, you don't have a actor's face in mind.
ReplyDeleteJody -- This is really good. Know the main reason why? It's short enough! I find too many book trailers are too long to hold my attention. You've also got a great storyline just in the trailer. Made me want to buy the book, so you did your job!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Katie that I liked having real actors in the trailer instead of still images. The music evoked a mood of sadness and longing.
ReplyDeleteI love the music it set the tone. And the fading from one image to another really sets it apart than other trailers where it's like a powerpoint presentation. Especially when the woman with the long hair has three different poses. Perfecto
ReplyDeleteI love the trailer. I watched it last week when I saw Bethany House put it up and love the idea. I think the trailer is great because it's just enough about the story to suck you in. I mean, part of that is just an insane idea that a couple would actually DO that to begin with.. and then you just want to read it to make sure that everything works out! (Everything better work out!)
ReplyDeleteI watched the trailer and left me wanting to read the book. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely trailer! I love the way the music sets the tone.
ReplyDeleteI've shared on Twitter and Facebook. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the trailer, but the part that grabbed me the most was the ending (which is good, lasting impression). When she slips the ring on and then turns and walks away I wanted to see how things will turn out. I could feel the pain in those movements.
Thanks! Prizes look awesome and I can't wait to read it.
Beautiful trailer! I read a comment or two saying that it was slow, but I actually really appreciated the pacing; it seemed just right, though usually I find book trailers move too slowly. I think it was really well-done and loved the silent actors, that really added to it.
ReplyDeleteOooooh, it's lovely! I adore the premise; I like romances that begin with practicality and convenience but end with love. :) My favorite part of the trailer? Definitely the part where she's walking away from the guy...my heart beat so sadly, wanting her to turn back...:) :) :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trailer, Jody! Congratulations on your second novel!!!
ReplyDeleteI watched and loved it. What did I love? It had a classic look and feel to it. And yes, it did leave me hungering for more!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to leave you my email...
ReplyDeleteIt's LauraLeeGroves at gmail dot com.
Thanks!
I watched the trailer, both today and...on Friday I think. It's going to sound strange, but the one thing that caught my eye in the trailer was the shawl that the young woman was wearing. I haven't seen a shawl in so long. When my sister and I were younger, our mother would buy us shawls. I loved my shawl so much. It made me feel special. I cant imagine where my mother got the shawls from, but I will never forget them, and so when I saw the shawl in the trailer I automatically had good feelings about it. Im so interested to know what happens to the characters. I enjoyed The Preacher's Bride very much. I follow you on twitter and you mentioned that your book was part of a sale. I don't usually read romances, but I took a chance, and was blessed for doing so. I finished it faster than I have been able to finish any other book this year. I hope I will be able to read The Doctor's Lady. I also tweeted about the contest.
ReplyDeleteetta.writer[at]gmail.com
That certainly peaked my interest! Loved the wistful music and that the trailer gave great anticipation to how this plays out! Of course I am already a fan of your last book and love your style of writing. Whether I win or not, I will be seeking a copy of this book that I have been looking forward to! Hugs, Kerrie
ReplyDeleteOh, I did like it, but it wasn't long enough--LOL! I loved the music and the artwork, and it sure got my attention to want to read this book. Please enter my name in the drawing, dear. On my way to share on Facebook as well...
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Jen
Posted on my FB page just now.
ReplyDeleteJust saw the trailer and now I'm interested in reading the book! I only discovered your blog last week and haven't read any of your other works and the trailer has certainly piqued my interest! Good luck with its publication!
ReplyDeletePosted it to my Facebook...
I love that you have live characters - that can be hard to work in well, but it totally works here. I tweeted! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the music used to set the mood. I think my favorite part is when he hands her the ring and she puts it on and walks away. Right there, that makes me want to read the book MORE!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many people watching YouTube, it only makes sense to tap into that market.
Love book trailers! :)
karenof4 (at) gmail (dot) com
i really liked the hesitant piano music in the beginning, and how it changed into a more elaborate music piece. a lot of the time, music makes or breaks a book trailer.
ReplyDeleteFacebooked and tweeted. I had a litle difficult with the small font, but I thought it was beautifully done with just enough information to make one want to buy it.
ReplyDeleteDuh! forgot the email:
ReplyDeletecharmainetdavis@yahoo.com.
I love that there are real people in it! Oh, I can't wait to read it. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI just "liked" it on FB too!.
Thanks
kristengjohnson (at) gmail (.) com
LOVE IT! I like the music to this trailer a lot. It is also really cool how this trailer is a total teaser... it makes you want to read the book really bad. (I posted a link to this page on facebook.)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read "The Doctor's Lady"!

Oh . . . Pensive. I can't wait. I saw tha rainbow, too. Nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI. can't. wait.
Tweeted. Facebooked.
What a sweet trailer! The pics are lovely. I tweeted about this contest and would love to be entered. Thanks!

Love this! Thought the video was great. This will be one of those all-nighter books again! Liked on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Sara
I watched and I tweeted.
ReplyDeleteThe video is REALLY good. It felt very professional with the layout and the costumed actors. It's one of the first that actually worked on me. Normally I watch them and just don't care, but this one was awesome.
Hi Jody! Lovely trailer - the music was gorgeous, and the artwork so well done. Just enough of the story to getchya hooked, without 'giving the milk away for free'!:) Can't wait to read it! Posting it on FB and Twitter! **grins**
ReplyDeleteWow, Jody. What a BEAUTIFUL trailer!! Hmm...my favorite part was when it flash all those different pictures of the lady. They were all so pretty, thoughtful, and captivating. Definitely sounds like an intriguing read!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be entered into the drawing. Both a critique and $20 amazing gift card sounds awesome! :-D Thanks for the chance!

LOVE the trailer... congrats! Can't wait for the book!
ReplyDeleteI liked the trailer. I liked the music and the visuals. I'd make the words larger and bolder, though. I'm excited about the contest. I'm at: mkharrin1@aol.com. Thanks, Marsha.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and simple presentation. The music made it feel emotional. I'm looking forward to reading the book.
ReplyDeleteVery calm presentation, but some implied tension in the text.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful music and artwork that draws you right into the story! It is a definite "must read" . . . sounds so interesting!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted and posted on FB.

Jodi, I liked the trailer, I didn't think it looked low budget or cheap at all. I like the music and the typed words as opposed to a narrator. I wasn't aware that there were trailors for books. Interesting concept. I hope this works well for you. I love following your blog. I gives us an open way to learn from others and you put so much effort into it. Thanks for your willingness to help other authors who are just starting out. I read and recommended The Preachers Bride to others. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of The Doctors Lady. I shared you link on facebook and OH Pick me Pick me! lol no seriously. :)Blessings Dawn
ReplyDeletepooky_12000@yahoo.com
I have to jump into the stream of entries again to say how much I've appreciated your feedback today! I've really enjoyed reading each and every one of your comments! Thanks for joining in the contest! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Jody! I love the plaid pattern of her dress. Okay, I know that's not the type of feedback you were looking for, but it just goes to show that a trailer enhances the visual experience. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be upfront and let you know that I've yet to see a book trailer that would entice me to buy a book.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, there is one thing that I think helps trailers: video--so you get a kudo from me there! :)
That was a good trailer!! I'm very interested in this book!
ReplyDelete(Btw: If I do win, I'll be on vacation until August 14, so I won't be responding to emails!)
cmshelstad at gmail dot come
I read your most recent post first, viewed the trailer from your sidebar there, and offered my opinion in a comment there, but at least I can send this on via Twitter and Facebook. The more people that know THE DOCTOR'S LADY's release is imminent, the better. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst off, the music set the mood and scene beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFor one brief moment the viewer is transported into this world.
So beautiful. It's amazing how much emotion can be portrayed without a single spoken word. I'm always disappointed when a trailer ends...they really are teasers! :)
ReplyDeleteI think Blogger ate my last comment.
ReplyDeleteI love how it's short with very few words. And I'll be honest. I don't read a lot of romance, but you had me at missions. And I love a story about a forced marriage that turns into love.
Can't wait to read the book!
Oooooo...I can't wait to read "The Doctor's Lady" and find out how their relationship develops!!
ReplyDeletejennalice77 (at) hotmail (dot) com
Love it, Jody. It is, by far, the best book trailer I've seen. I loved everything about it but especially the music.
ReplyDeleteHi Jodie, I love the concept of a tralier and the musical backing to yours is lovely, as was the opening scene. I thought it might have had a more impact if the narration was verbal as well as written. I will buy the book because I loved 'The Preacher's Bride' but the trailer would not be enough to entice me if I wasn't already aware of your writing.
ReplyDeleteI have watched the trailer. WOW! The trailer made me excited to read the book. I liked the music. I liked the emotion of the faces, I liked the premise of the book. I haven't read your book and have just now come across your blog. Wanting to purchase your first book now to begin.
ReplyDeleteI have shared on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI have tweeted your giveaway. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhen I browse the bookshelves at Lifeway bookstores, Half price books, goodwill, garage sales or the library..I always look for the Bethany House publisher logo on the spine! They NEVER dissappoint! So looking forward to picking up a copy of your newest release. Beautiful job on the trailer! Very engaging.
ReplyDeleteI love books like this. Going to add to my wish list. What a cute trailer video.

I really loved the trailer, I can't wait to read the book. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteLove the scene where he hands her the ring, conveys a lot with very little action. The music is wonderful in setting the mood. Might be a little slow moving in the beginning, but overall a lovely book trailer.
ReplyDeleteI also RT'd your post on Twitter and created a new post on my author Facebook page which is linked to Twitter as well.
Best wishes
Lovely! My fave part of the trailer is about 20 seconds in, where it shows the woman in diff poses (if those are photos--they look very painterly, very nice; if artwork, then they are fantastic!). Could partly be the music, but I felt a bit weepy at the end. ;o) Looks like a fun & great book!
ReplyDeletemy email: artzicarol [at] gmail [dot] com
Very intriguing! I really want to read the book! I like the whole trailer and the piano music was lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. Loved the flowing simplicity and to-the-point captions that made me want to know more. Music that tugged on emotions only enhanced it all.
ReplyDeleteLoved the trailer Jody! I'll post it to Facebook :) It really made me want to read the book!
ReplyDeleteI do love the brief duration of the trailer (great for capturing our attention), and I especially love the last 15 seconds or so. I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this kind opportunity!
I tweeted about this post, too. (I'm @Keep_Tha_Faith)
Loved the trailer, can't wait to get the book! I loved the Preacher's Bride (and so did my husband!) adusan@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe trailer was wonderful, looked good and the comments made me want to read the book to find out what happened to the couple, did they find love even tho they married in name only? Please enter me in your drawing, I plan to do FB also on this...Paula O (kyflo130@yahoo.com)
ReplyDeleteI watched the trailer a couple days ago (unaware you were running this contest) and couldn't stop thinking about the premise of your story. So for whatever that's worth, you should know that those sixty seconds captivated me and inspired my creative juices for my own WIP. The thing the video really conveys is longing, waiting, wondering. And THAT is my fave kind of book to read! :) I love that last question: "But does God have something better in mind?" *goosebumps* I can't wait to find out! :D
ReplyDeletePlus, there's a still shot of cursive! That always intrigues me! LOL
barb.riley1@gmail.com
I watched it...and now I want to read it!! Just visiting your blog for the 1st time (via Julie Gillies). Also, posted to my facebook. Blessings and book sales to you!
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot! rachel76x@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteJumping in here again to say how much I've enjoyed getting to see some old friends as well as "meet" some new people! Thanks for stopping by everyone and participating in the contest! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, Jodi, that's beautiful! This is going to sound trite, but I loved the professional look of the whole thing. So many book trailers I watch look very... amateur. Yours does not.
ReplyDeleteI also love the premise of the book, so will be buying it anyway, ha!
aimeelsalter (at) gmail.com
I loved the trailer, especially the music. It was peaceful, yet also held a hint of sadness.
ReplyDeletejrdawyd@gmail.com
Hi Jody. I loved your trailer. This is the first one that I have seen. I learned about your site from Hope Clark on twitter. I shall twitter and facebook this trailer. The video ran a little slow, but I loved the fading in and out of the text. The music was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi again, I also wanted to let you know I enjoyed your blog about things to do while waiting for a book to be published. It was helpful as I am waiting on my second children's book, Tired of School. I now have facebooked and twittered you. My email is dicysm@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI really liked the clarity of the premise and the beautiful graphics. I think your publishers did an excellent job (especially considering you said in an earlier comment that they don't usually do trailers).
ReplyDeleteI also tweeted about the trailer and contest :)
marcykennedy [at] gmail.com
Love the trailer, because the end left me wanting to find out what happens. Now, how long do we have to wait? :-)
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying learning about your process.
Regards,
Patti Phillps
Just finished reading "The Preacher's Bride" and was so excited to see the trailer of a new book coming! Can hardly wait to read your new book. The trailer certainly drew me in and I am looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteleckjoy@aol.com
oops, jumping back on with my email which I forgot to leave...just in case:)

Thanks !
Jody, I'm just back from vacation and catching up. Sorry for the late comment!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that immediately struck me was the mood from the solo piano. I come from a musical family and my brothers are film composers. I ALWAYS notice music and this beautifully set the tone - so mournful and contemplative, especially once the oboe joins in at the end. Wonderful! And you've give us just enough to really catch our attention as far as the plot goes, a great tease without giving away too many details.
I loved it!
Good Afternoon Jody,
ReplyDeleteYour trailer was excellent. The music, pictures and words have me anxious to read your book. It feels like forever before it comes out. I posted it on my facebook also. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing with us.
What a lovely trailer, Jody. I like the music, and the few frames of the woman in the middle seem to show her hesitating in front of the huge commitment.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing it with us!
Nancy
Posting late but just had to leave my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThis trailer has me wanting to read the book to discover if that trailer is about the beginning of the book. Which is what I hope as I would love to read their story of falling in love. This reminds me of arranged marriages in a sense. How married couples grow into love after marriage.
I'm adding it to my amazon order, Jodie. All the best in your sales!
Watched the trailer and cannot wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteEverything about the trailer captured the viewer's attention till the end...and left this viewer quite impatient for the release of your novel!!
